The key to protecting your home from water damage is early detection. This rope-like sensor is adjustable up to 500 feet, which means it can ring the whole basement, or just run underneath a hot water heater or washing machine. If it comes into contact with water—frozen or otherwise—it will send a push notification to your phone and sound a 100dB alarm. That way you can take care of the problem before it causes more significant damage.

The device has a three-year battery life, is WiFi-enabled, and needs no special hub or installation. And at just $80, it's a lot cheaper than the deductible on your homeowner's insurance.
